Meet Kaden, an incredible, loving, happy little boy who just celebrated his first birthday. I had not had the pleasure of meeting Kaden before shooting his party, but I certainly knew all about him and of SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), the horrible illness of which he is afflicted. His mother Katie and father Kyle are not only incredibly loving and caring parents, they go above and beyond to raise awareness of SMA. Kaden and his family have been on the local news more than once to educate and help share their own positivity and loving guidance. I get so excited each time I see his little face. He is certainly a tough cookie and has a smile that will simply melt your heart. I was beyond thrilled to be able to document this special day for Katie and Kyle and especially to see the joy on Kaden's face and the joy he brings to those around him. Happy Birthday Kaden!
Well one thing about being a photographer, your kids will never complain about you not taking enough pictures of them when they were young. We've been so busy these days, between my own birthday, family vacation and now moving, I was surprised that we found time to squeeze in a cake smash session for our little dude. I just want to point out that Jameson NEVER wears a hat, so for him to wear a hat through the whole session blows my mind still. I also want to thank the future hubby for jumping and running around like a mad man to distract and make our boy smile. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.
I've been trying to dabble more into infant/baby/child photography. When Jess first approached me, she was looking for photography coverage for Gavin's 1st birthday party. I've been dying to try my hands out on a cake smash session, so I pitched the idea out to Jess, and she loved it. I must say, I'm more than happy on the outcome. Not only is this my first cake smash, Gavin and I share the same birthday, which makes this extra special to me. Happy birthday Gavin, you're a very special little boy!
Here's a few of my favorite things...natural light, a belly bump, a mother's love and a child's innocence. Combine all these things and you have instant magic.
I can’t tell you how delighted I am to see my dear friend, Cary in love with Devon. He’s been a good friend of my mine for years now, and to finally see him this truly happy, well it just makes you gush. Seriously, these two love birds can be in a room with a 1,000 people and the only people that exist is the two of them. It’s like they just tune the whole world out and just listen to each other. I remember the first time Cary told me about Devon, I don’t think he could beam any brighter.
Cary and Devon, I’m so ecstatic for your new journey together, as husband and wife.
I had the pleasure of working with Couture Lolita again. I shot for them a couple years back, I was supposed to shoot outside that time, but the weather didn't cooperate, so I was happy that mother nature was on my side for this shoot. It was good to photograph Sole and Jackie again- these ladies never disappoint my lens. I also, got to work with Emily for the first time, who just killed the makeup and of course my go to hair guru, Shelley is always on point.
I just love the Sundy House, so I was beyond excited when Jenny contacted me to photograph her wedding there. Now mind you, I already had the privilege of photographing her now sister-in law, Lindsay's wedding... I love it when I'm considered the "family" photographer. Mother nature didn't give us the clearest skies, but regardless, I was able to create beautiful images. Remember rain on your wedding day is considered good luck.
I had to the pleasure of shooting the Finkelsteins a few years back, so I was thrilled that they contacted me again for another family shoot. Stacy wanted more of an urban feel to her pictures this time around...I think we nailed it.
